Rijkswaterstaat Verkeer en Watermanagement is dedicated to its development. It has an ongoing program to support leaders within the organization in developing their leadership skills. Since 2022, Rijkswaterstaat has been running the leadership program in collaboration with GITP, focusing on Inclusion & Ownership as central themes. Approximately 270 directors, managers, team leaders, and coordinators participate in the program.
GITP is collaborating with the Netherlands Aerospace Centre (NLR) this year on a program involving 34 managers. The goal is to encourage continuous learning and development among all NLR leaders, helping them maximize their leadership potential.
Finding the right employees in a challenging job market is quite a task. This is also felt by network operators and companies working in the energy transition. At TenneT, the manager of the Dutch high-voltage grid, there is an urgent need for engineers. Maaike Meima, Advisor for Resource Management and Development at TenneT, developed a two-year training program for junior engineers in collaboration with GITP. What does the program entail? And is it a success?
In a time when many companies face significant personnel shortages, it is even more crucial to hire and retain the right people. This reality also applies to Waterschapsbedrijf Limburg (WBL). To mitigate the risks of a mismatch, WBL teamed up with GITP, which provided a solution through its Easy Select tool. Recently, this tool was used for filling three new positions.

Tackling the workforce shortage in the hospital while contributing to society sounds ambitious but is being put into practice at Rijnstate. The hospital started a pilot program for lateral entrants at the beginning of 2023. In 2023, Tergooi MC is relocating from two sites in Hilversum and Blaricum to a new, single site in Hilversum. Alongside this logistical operation, the hospital also restructured its organizational framework ahead of the move. This involved selecting twenty suitable candidates for the new role of Head of Care from a pool of 41 department managers. HR Manager Bas Brussaard and Manager of Care and Operations Barbara de Pont were responsible for this project and enlisted the help of GITP.
The Social Affairs and Employment (SZW) department of the Municipality of The Hague faced a challenge in selecting candidates for a management talent program. This internal program aims to identify employees aspiring to leadership roles within the municipality. With 35 applications for only seven spots, the selection process needed to be thorough and objective.
